Everything you need to know about, Taqdeer, car repair estimate

Whether you have third-party or comprehensive insurance, the next step after getting your official accident report from Najm or Traffic should be Taqdeer. In Saudi Arabia, Taqdeer refers to the process of assessing car damage to estimate repair costs and the car’s value after the accident. Unlike before, when getting an estimate required getting quotes from official car showrooms or mechanics in car workshops, Taqdeer has made the process quicker and easier for drivers.

Here’s how you can get a repair estimate from Taqdeer to get your car back in working condition in 3 steps 👇

Step 1: Find the closest Taqdeer center and book an appointment.

Soon after the accident, you’ll get an SMS from Najm or Moroor with the accident report. The message will direct to take your car to Taqdeer (or an approved assessment center in your area).

But first, you’ll need to find the closest one to you and book an appointment.

💡 Don’t worry about your Taqdeer & towing bill

Your car insurance will cover the cost of getting your car towed to the Taqdeer assessment center and the assesment fees. Just hang onto the receipts!

Ps. Taqdeer centers operated by Taqeem can actually come to your doorstep for the car assessment! But heads up, there’s an extra charge for this kind of service.

the Taqdeer process

  • On the day of your appointment, you’ll bring the damaged car to the assessment center.
  • A staff member will register your car and check the information in your accident report. You’ll receive an SMS confirming your car’s details have been entered into the system
  • Next, experts will examine your car to assess the damage. They’ll create a report listing the parts that need replacing, the cost of parts and labor, and how much less your car is worth now.
  • Once they’re finished, you’ll get a text with the final damage assessment report within 48 hours. If you’re unhappy with the results or spot any mistakes in your Taqdeer report, you can ask for a second look.

What happens next? 👀

Once you have the final damage assessment report, it’s time to deal with car insurance. The good news is, Taqdeer centers can automatically file a claim using their electronic system. So, you don’t have to go to their office or file a claim online. Just have your ID and IBAN ready.

Step 2: File your car insurance claim

Next, you’ll need to file a car insurance claim. Here’s what you’ll need to submit with your claim:

  • A copy of your ID
  • A copy of Istimara, ie. vehicle license.
  • Najm (or Moroor) accident report
  • Taqdeer report
  • Taqdeer receipt
  • Towing receipt
  • Your IBAN

Not sure whose insurance company to claim from?

  • If you caused the accident 100%, you’ll need to file a claim with your own car insurance company — but you should have comprehensive insurance for that.
  • If the other driver is at fault (25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%), you’ll file a claim with their car insurance company.

Step 3: Get your money and repair your car

After you submit your claim, the insurance company should send you the money to fix your car within 15 business days. Once you have it, you can finally get your car fixed!

Car accidents are stressful enough. Figuring out repairs shouldn’t be.

Accidents happen, but having car insurance makes a huge difference! If you cause an accident, it protects you from the stress of going bankrupt. And if someone else is to blame, car insurance ensures they’ll be able to pay to fix your car without any delays. Without it, you could find yourself in a sticky situation!
